Equipment system has undergone several updates, too:
A“stat squish” and an ilvl system update is coming.
On April’s O&A developers revealed: there is no more Azerite armor/Weapons Titanforging, but Weapons still can be Warforged (+5/10 iLvl).
Using the Azerite reinforcement, the Heart of Azeroth can reinforce suppressed powers of your equipment pieces’.
Personal loot system is the last remained to simplifyappearance farming.
Island Expeditions boost
A trembling adventure for three gamers revealed in the “BFA”, unparalleled in the history of WOW. You must collect Azerite and follow the Island’s scenarios fighting Computer’s AI or other real gamers. Rewards you can get there will allow you to modify your class role. For example, you can turn into a healer-mage. The Island Expeditions become available after the “War Campaign” full completion. A great opportunity to level up.
Meet the new exciting adventure provided by the new expansion, where you have to fight in 3v3 format with game artificial intelligence or soldiers of the enemy faction. You have to go to an unexplored island in search of Azerite and treasures.
How to Unlock
Heroic Island Expeditions unlock after you finish the War Campaign on maximum difficulty level. Once you unlock it, it gets unlocked for all your account’s characters.
Island Expeditions – a new battle format in which you participate in the new addition. In many ways, the essence of this format is reminiscent of Mists of Pandaria. Gamers go to the exotic uncharted island in a team of three warriors. There you have to collect as much Azerite as you can and discover the secrets that the islands hide. The composition of the group isn’t predetermined by requirements, so that the roles can be arbitrary. You can go to the islands with three tanks or three healers. It is assumed that a single passage of this adventure will take no more than 15-20 minutes.
Gamers go to an island that is inhabited by a wide variety of creatures. Even if you’ve ever been to this island in the past, Island Expeditions are randomly generated and other creatures, chests, quests, shrines, handicraft materials, interesting events, and much more.
The enemy will fight for the same resources as you, and the team that won the first 6000 Azerite wins! You will have an unforgettable battle with the opponents for resources and treasures on the island.
In addition, for Battles for Azeroth, innovation is an artificial intellect, which will be a worthy opponent; Try to hold out, because the caster, or cheater, can sneak up on you, while you are fighting mobs. You can face AI at all levels of complexity: Normal, Heroic, Mythic and PvP. The level you choose influences the intelligence of AI.

Going this way, you will fill your Heart of Azeroth in the battle for the resource, which will get as much of Azerite as possible under the control of your fraction!
How does it work?
You can accumulate during Normal/Heroic/Mythic or PvP competitions by yourself or along with the company, in order to monitor your success – use the expedition panel in the harbor of Boralus for Alliance/ the harbor of Zuldazar for Horde. Your group can consist of 3+ warriors with any combination of roles that will allow you to defeat the enemy rapidly by gaining 6000 Azerite before the rivals.
Having reached the land, you leave your ship, and find yourself on the island, full of desire to gain control over as much Azerite as possible and even more. You can choose your way of achieving your goal, killing bridges or going to search treasure chests, battling with an enemy faction team or mining nodes spread all over the island.
In the docs, you can find 6 NPC teams to start the expeditions.
The opponent team competes with the team that is selected randomly.
However, you need to take into account that multi-disciplinary teams can be generated, including Jaina Angels and the Rangers of Greenbell. The famous “Sneaky Pit” is part of this command and he will not let you get bored. And do not think that because of the Champion of the Horde NPC there will not be a worthy opponent for it’s members. While the Alliance will face “Sneaky” Pete in Expeditions on the island, the Horde will face no less serious task fighting against the outcast of the NPC in “Stabby” Lottie.
Do not assume that these commands act like ordinary NPCs, which either fight you with spells in ranged combat, or approaching the dense ones involve you in close combat. Their tactics are much wider – rogue characters can attack you silently hiding, while mages can throw Blink to get away from you. If you happened to be a participant in a meeting with the Champions’ faction from the “Litigation”, then the tactics of the NPC will be similar. If they can’t break through your defense while you are fighting against deadly island creatures.

New Zones overview + Maps
This time the ever-changing world brought two new two new continents: Kul Tiras and Zandalar, most favorable for Alliance’s maritime or Horde’s trolls empire evolving. We now have the initial general picture of the situation and environment on all these continents’ areas.

If you are a follower of the Alliance, it will lead you to the Kul Tiras, and if you are from Horde, you will travel to the Stormwind Prison and rescue mighty Zandalari Trolls…
In accordance with book’s updated description, Anduin is facing the necessity of right decision with the Horde state. Other fractions take enormous risk of using Azerite for their own purposes, despite the danger. After the Teldrassilis burnt down, the line brings us to the Battle for Lordaeron. We are watching the struggle between the fractions evolving. Spectacular, shocking, fascinating. But there are still references to Old Gold, and Vol’jin’s storyline will keep going!

This system has proved its effectiveness and popularity among gamers, despite the passage of time, so it’sexpanding.
On 25.03.2018, during the Q&A, it became clear: Tyrannical and Fortified are 2nd level additions now. There are allusion on the new MDI that can be seen in 2018, so it’s possible that «BFA» tournaments won’t make us wait too long.
Inside one of new raids, Uldir, there is the final boss inside, Blood God G’Huun. You can get the “Famed Slayer of G’huun” title as a reward of Hall of Fame. Please notice that traditional armour or weapon sets are no longer quoted in newexpansion.
Unfortunately, not every class gets special bonuses and themed sets, but all the armour is themed assuming the zone’s atmosphere.

“BFA”, there is no more blacklist. It was finally replaced with the Common Battlegrounds queue. Ashran and Strand of the Ancientswon’t appear in the “BFA”, that was confirmed by Blizzard during the Q&A. Perhaps, that measure is temporary.
Innovative crafting system is integrated. You can now dismantle gear into separate materials.
First Aid turns into the “First Aid” achievements.
The Heart of Azeroth
Depending on what level of difficulty you play, different equipment will contain 3/4 rings.
In addition, there’s a new animation for the rings, your chosen trait will remain on the top while each ring is rotating.
New Interface – 3 / 4 Rings
Currently, testing pieces have the following characteristics
- Tier 3: 1 generic trait + 1 option/class specialization;
- Tier 2: 3 generic throughput traits;
- Tier 1: 2 generic utility/defensive traits.
- Tier 0: Empowered by Azerite
Azerite Leveling items only have 0, 1 and 3 tier traits. Tier 2 is available only for raid/dungeon drop items.
Gamers now can unlock new “properties” of objects as the artifact accumulates residual power. This system reminds of the Netherlight Crucible by the same possibility of adjusting the properties of the object. As soon as you reach the established power thresholds of the artifact, new available characteristics will reveal. It is assumed that Helm, Shoulders and Sunda can be strengthened by the artifact. Since these parts of the outfit don’t have secondary characteristics, it is assumed that such a fusion will directly enhance their primary properties.
Customize the characteristics to your taste. Each part has 2 rings, each of which contains several possible characteristics. Once the ring is unblocked, gamers can open 1 trait. The outer ring opens first and provides a choice of three options. The inner one opens next and contains 2 options. The part with the matching name will have a complete match of properties. This will be available for viewing in the Dungeon Journal (without RNG).
Not looking at the fact that items of a higher level will have significantly more powerful characteristics available, Azurite empowered items are unable to titanforge.
Equipment upgraded with the help of Azerite can be obtained in the usual ways: dungeons, quests and so on. But Epic Azerite pieces will drop only from a limited number of sources. This is done so that gamers can’t accumulate it too quickly and it remains more elite. Thus, your journey will stretch, and you will not be able to end the adventure too quickly and get all the Azerite.
You can obtain Azerite pieces from Mythic Dungeons, Raids, Weekly Mythic Keystone Chest and Conquest Point System.
You will only find an Azerite piece once in 15 item lvl incensement.
In Boralus and Zulzadar you can find new NPCs called Azerite Reforgers. They will help you to change selected Azerite Traits in gear. They also can work along with Void Storage and Transmogrification assistants.
With the help of these NPCs you will be able to remove all Azerite from chosen item and place it again the way you want it. It will cost you 10 gold in Beta (improves twice every time for the same item).
Catch-up system will require less Artifact Power for each level of the Heart of Azeroth (unlike the Artifact Knowledge systemtat required 30% more AP every week).
Thus, the developers decided to reduce the obviously absurd amounts of the required AP at the end of the previous expansion, when it was necessary to gain billions and trillions of AP points for the transition to the next level. In addition, now the Heart of Azeroth is able to accumulate AP directly, without taking up space in the inventory.
Uldir Traits and Reorigination Array
Following traits work during the Uldir raid only:
- Laser Matrix – abilities, skills and spells may release a laser blast; restores 308 HP divided among injured allies + causes 770 Arcane damage divided on all enemies.
- Reorigination Array – highest secondary stat improved by 0.
- Archive of the Titans – +1 on primary stat improved up to 20 times.
Completion of the Battle of BFA
The integrated system will be partly similar to the one used for the quests of the Broken Shore. Collect the required amount of the resources, hen attack Warfront can begin. Winning grants your faction access to special content the control over the attacked camp. If your team loses, you will have to look again for resources to restart Warfront.
It’s assumed that the enemy faction will need about a week before it can begin its attack. Thus, allied fraction can gain control over the whole Warfront for a whole week, gaining access to the external content of the Arathi Highlands, some Rare Spawns, World Bosses.

As soon as you gain control over the Drovnisker mine, iron is regularly generated and replenished with time. It is noteworthy that the speed will improve as you update your Great Hall.

The camp of the Alliance considered captured if its flag was captured. However, to begin its capture, you must defeat the NPC.

Opponent returns the camp
