The Aberrus raid is the centerpiece of the Embers of Neltharion update (also known as patch 10.1). Its setting is an arcane research facility once used by Neltharion himself. The black dragon whom long-term fans will remember as Deathwing used to conduct terrifying experiments. Players can find Aberrus in the north of the new subterranean area that opened up in the same update.

Normal, Heroic, and Mythic variants of the Aberrus raid will arrive a week after patch 10.1. LFR wings shall be added later. Specific dates have not been disclosed at the time of writing. However, it seems likely that the instance is going to follow the same pattern as its predecessor.

As WoW’s newest raiding instance, Aberrus lets raiders earn the finest loot rewards. Its Mythic variant in particular will drop items whose ilvls should exceed those of spoils from any other source in the MMORPG. The raid also features some of the title’s toughest encounters. To defeat them, players would need to navigate punishing mechanics and deploy complex tactics. Above all else, they would have to exhibit superb teamwork. Finding and coordinating parties in newly-added high-stakes content poses numerous challenges. • Kazzara;
• Molgoth;
• Experimentation of Dracthyr;
• Zaqali Invasion;
• Rashok;
• Zskarn;
• Magmorax;
• Echo of Neltharion;
• Scalecommander Sarkareth.

The third and fourth entries are council-style scenarios featuring multiple foes. The penultimate entry also warrants particular mention. It pays homage to mechanics seen in Blackwing Lair, forcing adventurers to harm their allies with different effects based on class. That said, all of these bosses have their own dangerous and distinctive mechanics. They also drop unique equipment pieces for each spec.
